Liverpool - Raheem Sterling is believed to be installed as a central striker when Liverpool host Manchester United, with Daniel Sturridge will start from the bench.
Since returning from a long injury Sturridge has become a regular starter as a spearhead, though he later backed up when Manchester City visited Anfield earlier this month by Sterling led the front lines of the Reds.
Dietmar Hamann, penggawa 'The Red' period 1999-2006, assess very similar strategy may be re-applied Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers at home to Manchester United on Sunday (22/03/2015).
"Personally that's what I would do. I would not be surprised to see Sterling play in front with Sturridge on the bench," said Hamann in the Liverpool Echo.
"I think Daniel is also not 100%, so I thought it would be nice if he had sat on the bench and become a secret weapon for the last half hour, and let Sterling stretch the United defense first," he said.
In the first meeting with Manchester United this season, Sterling also be installed as a forward with Sturridge when it was pulled because of an injury. Although eventually Liverpool lost 0-3, Hamann assess his former team played okay and performance of Sterling in that position is now increasingly promising.
"If you remember the game at Old Trafford, that's the first time we really saw Sterling as an attacker. And even though we lost the game, we make more opportunities than we had throughout the season, and he made a big difference," value Hamann.
"It seems that since then he has played well in that position. When you have speed ahead, it changed everything. We lack that aspect in the first half of the season when Mario Balotelli or Rickie Lambert playing in front, but we have started doing since the game in Old Trafford. "
"It would be a great decision to not put Sturridge, but I just think that Sterling might be the right choice (for the front lines)," he said.(detikSport)
