Gabon to host 2017 Africa Cup of Nations

Cairo - Gabon will again hold the African Cup. Country on the west coast of Africa was selected to host the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

2017 Africa Cup of Nations will initially be held in Libya. However, Libya resigned last August because of the security situation that is not conducive in the country makes the construction of new stadiums hampered.

Libya pullback makes Confederation of African Football (CAF) opens the opportunity for other countries interested to host. Algeria, Ghana, Gabon, and Egypt Egypt despite recent volunteered to resign.

In the CAF executive committee meeting in Cairo on Wednesday (04/08/2015), Algeria and Ghana Gabon outperform in voting. They had the right to hold a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, which is followed by 16 teams and was held in the month of January-February.

Gabon previously hosted the 2012 African Cup alongside Equatorial Guinea. Equatorial Guinea itself back to host this year to replace Morocco.(detikSport)
