Blackburn - Prior to face Blackburn Rovers in the game replay of the FA Cup quarter-final, Liverpool won two bad results in the league. The victory over Blackburn was called as a positive response to the poor results.
In two straight games, Liverpool defeated 1-2 at the hands of Manchester United and 1-4 at the hands of Arsenal. Two losses made Liverpool left behind in the race for the top four zones. Currently, Liverpool sits in fifth position with a value of 54, seven points behind fourth occupant, Manchester City, with seven games remaining.
When a chance in the league does not look too good, Liverpool had shifted focus to the FA Cup, where they still have a chance to win a trophy. The condition was first conquered Blackburn at Ewood Park on Thursday (9/4).
The Reds also through the game well. Appear dominant, Brendan Rodgers made the team win 1-0 through goals Philippe Coutinho in the 70th minute. Liverpool created a lot of opportunities and success chalked clean sheet though not without two of their main defender, Martin Skrtel and Emre Can.
After getting rid of Blackburn, Liverpool will face Aston Villa in the semi-finals which will take place 19 April.
"Today's match is very important for us, because everyone in the team is disappointed with the performance and results that we can in recent weeks," said the Liverpool midfielder, Jordan Henderson, told BT Sport.
"But, tonight, we were brilliant from start to finish. We control the game and defended well."
"Now, we will face a hard game against Villa at Wembley. But this victory has raised our mental," said Henderson.(detikSport)
