Madrid - Real Madrid past the first round match against Rayo Vallecano without being able to score a goal. The words of coach Carlo Ancelotti in the locker room at halftime to help the Los Blancos break the deadlock in the second half.
In the match at the Campo de Futbol de Vallecas, Thursday (04/09/2015), Madrid get a few chances in the first half. But, until the break, they were unable to break down the home team's goal.
The period of rest for 15 minutes used by Ancelotti to provide direction at once encouragement to his men. Ancelotti's words proved to be effective because in the second half Madrid scored two goals by Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodriguez. Madrid also won 2-0 and took home the full point.
"In the second half, we increased the intensity and pressure us (at Rayo) improved. This is a very good result," said Madrid defender Raphael Varane, who cited Football Espana.
"(Coach Carlo Ancelotti) want a higher pressure and a more intense game, and that's what we did," said Varane.
The victory over Rayo make Madrid remain four points adrift of Barcelona in the La Liga standings board. With eight games remaining until the end of the season, Madrid will continue to press the eternal rival and hopes to overtake.
"It's important we do not lose points. We have to move on and continue to think we can win the title," said Varane.
"We must continue to fight, there are still remaining eight important games (in the league) and we took the team as a whole," he said.(detikSport)
